Irish Historical Societies.

Throughout Ireland there are hundreds of Historical Societies, these are usually formed by dedicated groups of individuals, anxious to persevere for future generations the history and folklore of their area. Many of these groups have excellent web site's on which is described in text, prose, image and music, historical events, local characters, and ghost stories.

The members of these societies are volunteers, all costs incurred when traveling to research articles are carried by the members. For their valuable contribution of information that would otherwise be lost to posterity, we are deeply indebted. Often the societies publish books, one such is 'Lost in the Mists of Time' published by The Killowen Historical Society of County Down. (The Clantire Press)

If you are involved in a historical society, you can have it listed on this site free of charge, we ask, but don't insist that you give us a link on you site.
