Adjoining the Cruisers jetty, at Acres Lake 1 km from the town has heated outdoor swimming pool, tennis courts and children's playground. The "Teach Ceoil" or Music House which is situated here provides occasional sessions of Irish music song and dance.

County Leitrim and Drumshambo in particular have a long history of Iron and Coal Mining, from the early 15th century iron was mined in the area. The visitors centre in Drumshambo town centre, bring this history to life using an audio visual display, other subjects covered are the Leitrim Cavan Railway and sweat houses, forerunners of the modern sauna. Information about activities and places of interest in the surrounding area are available at the centre, there is also a well stocked souvenir shop selling local arts and crafts. The building also houses the local library.

area around Lough Rynn has been occupied for thousands of years, there
is a Bronze Age burial tomb near the site of a ruined castle, once the
stronghold of the Reynolds clan, who were dispossessed of it in 1622 when
it was granted to the Crofton family, the property remained in their hands
until 1750 when it was acquired? by The Earls of Leitrim.
