The house was built in 1800 and has been lovingly restored by Tim and Monica Phelan over the past twenty-five years. Special care has been taken to retain many original features and furnishings. Of special charm is the wallpaper in the drawing room which is original and has been there since 1823 as well as wonderful original gilded curtain pelmets which bear the coat of arms of the Kearney Family who built the house. At Blanchville, rooms are big and bright and furnished to give an air of elegance and relaxation. We pride ourselves on our personal attention and will do everything in our power to make your stay with us a happy one. Blanchville House offer a comprehensive range of health treatments, visit this page on their website for more details.

At Knockanore you can walk along the road and see nature at its best; perhaps a fox or pheasant from your bedroom window running through the field and in the evening wonder at all the crows as they return to their rookery in nearby Mount Juliet. Knockanore should prove to be an ideal base for touring the South East of Ireland. We are located 1 hour from Rosslare harbour. Two newly constructed adjoining self catering holiday homes just a few yards from the main house. Accommodation in the two-storey house is provided in two bedrooms, 1 double with ensuite and 1 twin room with ensuite. The single storey also has two bedrooms, 1 double with ensuite and 1 twin. The
Gables. |

The Gables The current Archersgrove House visible from The Gables was built in 1904 by Mr James Poe. The Gables is part of a wing of Archersgrove House that incorporated a coach house. The building was constructed in the early 18th Century and in 1990 the coach house was transformed into the current Gables. One striking feature visible from outside of The Gables is the limestone corner stones; limestone is native to the local area. Once inside you will feel an immediate sense of “warmth, security, and homeliness”. This is achieved by the use of warm vibrant colours and tasteful furnishings. Another feature of this house is the thickness of the walls, the true extent of this can be see by looking out any of the windows. This was a common feature in years gone by. You will also be struck by the charm of the turf burning fire in the sitting-room. The turf sometimes known as peat is sourced locally in the North of the County. Kilkenny is known as the “Marble City” and the black marble for the fire surround came from the famous “Black Quarry” which is located on the farm. The fireplace is quite unique as there is a high content of fossil detail visible in the marble.
