The robin is probably the most easily recognized of all our birds. It is a widespread and common resident. It is a fiercely territorial both male and female will defend a territory

Robin numbers have fallen somewhat as a result of loss of nesting habitat due to agricultural practices

Sings throughout most of the year, and regularly at night (when sometimes confused with nightingale).
