In a battle at Leth Caim the king of Airgialla was defeated, The conflict was triggered by by a disagreement between Eogan Mainistrect, the abbot of Armagh and the king who drove Eogan from the abbey, and replaced him with his own half brother, Naill Caille, the king of the rival Cenel nEogain dynasty, went to the aid of Eogan and following a war against Airgialla, succeeded in reinstating him.
