New Irish Law Code.

A new law code was introduced to Ireland by High King Aed ordained of the Ui Neill dynasty. The laws called the 'Law of Patrick' resembles legal codes in other Irish provinces, these are a collaboration of ecclesiastical and secular authorities designed to cut down lawlessness.

The code encompasses crimes against women, the clergy and cattle, and the protection of non combatants in warfare, and sinning on Sunday.

The penalties consist mostly in a system of fines, and compensation. The basic principle was that the greater the crime the more severe the compensation. People who break the laws face the prospect of losing their property.
