Cathedral. |

The original cruciform church was built on this site sometime after 1218 by Bishop Robert de Bedford, all that remains from this period are the chancel arch and the window in the south transepts. Richard Boyle first earl of Cork rebuilt the church in the seventeenth century, in the neo gothic style of the period. A crocketed door leads from the nave to the west porch, a carved oak screen divides the choir from the nave and yet another the nave from the north transept. The interior walls are whitewashed and the windows glazed with clear glass.
