This museum is dedicated to horse drawn transport, and farm machinery. They have on display an 1825 London to Oxford stagecoach. The oldest dates from 1790 was privately owned, their latest acquisition is a doctor's buggy of 1910. At Dergalt is the Wilson Ancestral Home, once owned by the grandparents of Woodrow Wilson, President of the United States from 1913 to 1921. Pagan sites include The Druid's Altar, Castlederg, a chamber grave, and The Druid's Circle, an enigmatic stone circle, Christian ruins in the Strabane area include Ardstraw Monastery, founded in 540 AD by St. Eugene, and Scarvaghin Monastery, founded by the Franciscans in 1456. Grays Printing Press Main Street, Strabane Houses a fine collection of printing presses and a small theatre that captures the power of print through an audiovisual display. (Castle on the river Derg.) The rich cultural and historic heritage of Castlederg and the Derg valley is excellently presented in this center. Irish coffee owes its origins to local man Joe Sheridan. Learn about the Castlederg to Victoria bridge tram. The center has a play area where you can leave the kids, while you peruse the displays. Use the center as a base while you explore the Derg valley on foot, via a series of scenic routes.
