The Hill of Ward.
	Standing proud above the countryside of Meath is a hilltop crowned by . the ramparts of an Iron Age fort. This was the palace of Tlachtga a local sorceress, and was one of the meeting places for Meath's pagans, who assembled there for the Celtic festival of Samhain on the 1st November every three years to mark the beginning of winter. Some say that human sacrifices may have been carried out here on the eve of Samhain.

	(Fornocht) The Stone Age passage tomb . of Fourknocks stands on a grassy knoll. Its Irish name means "Bleak place" Inside the tomb a 17 ft long passage leads to a chamber 21 ft across much larger than the chamber at Newgrange. It has a few rough zigzag and circular decorations
