Foxford Woolen Mills Visitor Centre hosts two Art Galleries. On the first floor An Grianan Gallery shows the work of local artists, much of the work depicts the beautiful scenery of the county. All paintings are for sale. Ten to twelve exhibitions by professional artists are hosted each year ranging in content from paintings to sculpture photography and pottery. In the jewelry workshop on the first floor Claire and Michael can be seen handcrafting a range of gold and silver jewelry. See other surviving mills in Ireland.

Michael Davitt Museum. |

The Michael Davitt Museum is housed in the restored church in the village of Straide, County Mayo. Michael Davitt was christened in this church in 1846 and is buried in the grounds of the 13th Century Straide Abbey, beside the Museum. The Michael Davitt Museum contains an extensive collection of documents, photos, Land Acts, letters, postcards, posters and other items connected with Davitt's life. There is also the excellent audio visual and knowledgeable and friendly staff are on hand to give you a guided your which encompasses Davitt's grave and also Straide Abbey, if desired.
