This fine example of an early gothic revival house, was built in 1837 for Thomas Lefroy to the design of Daniel Robinson.

The interior furnishing is mostly Regency and early Victorian. The house still in the possession of the Lefroy family is open to the public and run as a guest house

Ardagh Heritage Centre.
 

The heritage centre at Ardargh is located in the old schoolhouse built in 1898 weaves a romantic picture of history, literature and the storytelling tradition of the locality. Famous people associated with the area are Oliver Goldsmith, Sir Walter Scott, and Marie Edgeworth, the centre tells their story.
