(Abbey of Laois.) This excellent museum located in the heritage town of Abbeyleix, gives a valuable insight to the pre Christian tribes of Laois, of the later influences of Christianity, there is a section dealing with the landlords of the county. Laois's industrial heritage is not forgotten with a display dedicated to the carpet industry once base in the town, in its heyday the company supplied carpets for the staterooms of the ill fated Titanic.

Mountmellick

Mountmellick Development Association established the museum in September 2003, the principal aim was to to conserve and display original pieces of Mountmellick embroidery, and to chronicle the the industrial heritage of the town, which was largely due to the Quakers.
