Prehistoric Sites in County Down.

Loughmoney Dolmen.

(Lough of the wood or planting.)

Loughmoney Dolmen situated in County Down approximately two miles east of Slieve Patrick is unusual in that the capstone is supported on only two uprights, a pile of boulders nearby may have been associated with the Dolmen.

From its location the town of Killyleagh on the far shore of Strangford Lough is clearly visible.
