Drumena Cashel.
 

Overlooking Lough Island Reavy on the Castlewellan to Hilltown road, Drumena Cashel is an oval cashel measuring about 40m by 33m with a wall averaging 2.75 meters (8.2 Ft) high and 3.3 (10.8 Ft) thick, it was excevated in 1925 and partially restored.

The present entrance may not be original, nor the present main entrance to the souterrain or stone hiding-place which leads from ruins of buildings which may be of recent date. The souterrain is 15 meters long, 2.1 meters high, and has a rectangular chamber facing the original narrow entrance which is at the opposite end to the modern widened one.

Directions from Castlewellan take the road to Newry you will find a sign for Drumena Cashel on the left.
