Towns in County Londonderry.

Moneymore.

(Great grove.)

Moneymore is a typical plantation town, with a market house, dispensary, and other fine buildings in the wide main street. It was built by the Drapers Company, and was the first town in Ulster to have piped water.

Around Springhill a 17th century fortified house near Moneymore are to be seen the remains of an ancient wood , a thicket of old yews has survived and the Irish oak stairway in the house was made from trees cut in the forests.
