Moneymore. |
||
(Great grove.) Moneymore is a typical plantation town, with a market house, dispensary,and other fine buildings in the wide main street. It was built by the Drapers Company,and was the first town in Ulster to have piped water. Around Springhill a 17th century fortified house near Moneymore are to be seen the remains of an ancient wood , a thicket of old yews has survived and the Irish oak stairway in the house was made from trees cut in the forests. |
