Dalua Killaloe is situated in east County Clare atthe south end ovf Lough Derg, the town is famous as being the birth place of Ireland's high king Brian Boru, Brian ruled from Kincora which is believed to have been situsted where Killaloe now stands. he was killed at the Battle of Clontarf in 1014 The area is a popular destination for hill walkers. The diocese of Killaloe is the second largest in Ireland encompasing a large part of Counties Clare, Tipperaty, Offaly, Laois and Limerick. Killaloe was once the home of one of Ireland's greatest kings Brian Boru who was killed at The Battle of Clontarf in 1014 On the shores of Lough Derg the University of Limerick has an outdoor pursits centre. |
