Belturbet
Station. |

Belturbet Station consisting of 10 acres of land and several railway buildings was bought by the Belturbet Community Development Association in 1995. The association began an ambitious restoration project which now attracts many visitors from across the world. The station opened in October 1885 serving the local community faithfully until its closure in March 1959. It was owned by The Great Northern Railway, it was unusual in that it catered for both narrow and standard gauge tracks, you can read the history of Belturbet Station on their website.

Saint
Killians Heritage Centre |

Saint Killian was a native of County Cavan he was born at Mullagh in 640 AD. He became a missionary to Wurzburg in Germany in 686AD where he was martyred there three years later. The exhibition is dedicated mainly to Saint Killian including his work and martyrdom it also covers Irish missionary work in Europe in and around the time of Saint Killian. The exhibition contains many photographs, maps, manuscript facsimiles and reproductions, it is well worth a visit if you are in the area.

Cavan County Museum is located in a nineteenth Century building at Virginia Road, Ballyjamesduff, the Museum has displays relating to Cavan and surrounding districts. There are many exhibits of Stone Age, Bronze Age, Iron Age and Medieval periods. There is on display the 1,000 year old Lough Errol Canoe also the pre Christian Killycluggin Stone and Corleck Head.
