The picturesque village of Keady
set amid the rolling hills and farmland of Armagh epitomizes
the Irish country town. There is warmth and friendliness in the
people eager to help or advise. The area around Keady is typical
Ulster drumlin country, the local farmers engage in mixed agriculture,
their needs are catered for by the wide variety of shops in the
town.
Previously
the town had two water powered mills one of which has been converted
to a restaurant and tea room. For a relaxing holiday in a quiet
country location Keady has a lot to offer, with its quality guest
houses and genuine country pubs.
In
the town center is an impressive memorial to the industrialist William
Kirk who developed the nearby village of Darkley.
