The name Crumlin means crooked glen, there is good fishing to be had in the area at Glenavy and Stoneyford Reservoir. The estate was granted to the Packenham family in the 17th century. Before the plantation the area was owned by the O'Neills of Clandeboye. Part of the estate Crumlin glen which is now a 15 acre park where there are woodland walks,
